Crescendo
At times it seems like I’m pissing in the wind… and just getting wet.
We are up against something terrible — The CABAL as I call it — billionaires, religious zealots, nihilists and simple avaricious aggrandizers — in cahoots to remove the restraining elements of constitutional democracy. They want to obliterate “cosmopolitan” multicultural democracy and (re)institute a dominant culture of white male dominated quasi-Christian authoritarian governance.
My sense of history is that the massive disparity between the democratic history (albeit rather checkered) of the US and the oligarchical autocracy that the Trumphukians are trying to install has reached a crescendo. The degree of corruption and brazen criminality of Trump and his coconspirators coupled with an idiotic war against Iran may have reached a breaking point. But will this lead to a democratic blue tsunami that gives the opposition the means to oust the Trumphukians? Or will it lead to conflict and violence… and then what?
As I’ve said elsewhere: we’re at the cusp. There is a rising tide of resistance. There are midterm elections in process. This may be the most crucial time in post World War II US history.
Crescendo.
I think we all feel like we're "pissing in the wind" these days, but it's more important than ever that we keep trying to make our voices heard. I always think that if I can make just one person stop and think, then it was worth all the effort.
