Same As It Ever Was
There is a sickness.
It pervades the Trumphukian rendition of the Reagan trickle down lie. It was captured by the First Whore, Melania’s: “I don’t care”….
We live in a country that has abundance all around and yet cannot spare a few million dollars to feed the hungry. But we can spend billions on a senseless war.
We live in a country in which many are homeless. Yet we can give massive tax breaks to the mega / maga billionaires.
You can say, “There’s always been poverty”; You can say, “There’s always been a underclass…”. You can say, “This is not my problem.”
You can say, “I don’t care”….
Then you say, “Protect me from these vile unwashed—I’ve got mine how dare they threaten that!” The government must erect barriers and keep them away…. “We cannot solve this…. It’s their fault … it’s not my fault.”
You say, and likely truthfully, “I worked for mine… and I deserve it.” Probably true. But with what advantages and with what serendipity versus the poor and hungry? Does that mean you should turn blind eyed from those who were less advantaged or less fortunate?
Just because you cannot solve “all the problems in the world” doesn’t mean you can’t spend some time and money solving some of them.
Surely it doesn’t mean you should extract from them the very bases for their sustenance and survival. Take their SNAP away. Take their medical assistance away. Make them work the way you did… no matter what their circumstances. Lazy. Indolent. Shiftless. Freeloaders. Really?
Let’s look at the reality of poverty.
Some claw their way out but most don’t. Most cannot.
No education.
No access.
No support.

Can we break the chain?
As long as the tax laws are as lopsided as they currently are and the emphasis remains on caring for the oligarchs and their billions, there is no cure. Not one of trumps cronies will release one dime. Why should they, the government is in lock step with them. We need wholesale tax reform now.
I do give my money to charity btw. But because I do this I feel all the flagrant spending that this administration has been spending on the war and oh yeah the "golden ballroom." I'm baffled, why or why? Some blame his sociopathic narcissism and if he is that psychologically mentally ill then he shouldn't be where he is. All he does is create Chaos and wars of his own making and has done NOTHING for WE the PEOPLE! I HATE the fact that "HE" wants WE THE PEOPLE to pay for the ballroom that we never wanted to begin with.
